My design career began in first grade.
I won second place in a poster design contest for an anti-littering campaign. The
recognition was addictive!
After graduating college with a degree in graphic design, I began working in the
art department of Florafax International in Tulsa. From there I went to work managing
the art department for a local type house (back in the day when all artists knew
what a type house was). Two years out of college, I took the plunge and started
freelancing. My clients were many and included Hood Hope and Associates, Brothers
and Company, AAPG, Hilti International, Zebco and others. In 1990, I was offered
a position in the creative department at CITGO Petroleum Corporation. Fifteen years
later, when CITGO relocated to Houston, I left my position of senior art director
for CITGO and started my own freelance business again, but this time with much
more experience and a lot of new technology.

operated Donathan Design and have had the pleasure of serving a number of wonderful
clients. My experience includes design, strategy art direction, process management,

I have a reputation for being a strategic thinker. I take my work seriously but,
I like to have fun too. I see my role as, first and foremost, a problem solver.
Let me know how I can help you with your communications challenges. I'm considerably
more talented than I was in the second grade!
